FAQ

How much does it cost to clean my rug?

  • There is no simple answer. While we can provide rough estimates by phone, we are unable to guarantee any prices until we measure and evaluate each rug personally.

Why is there no ‘flat rate’ when it comes to rug cleaning?

  • Many factors come into play when it comes to the cleaning of area rugs. It is not a standard rate because rugs are considered art, and thus, are not one-size-fits-all price. For example, the price of cleaning a 3x5-size tufted wool rug will vary considerably from a same sized antique silk rug.

What factors influence cost?

  • Age of the rug, material, country of origin, value, size, weave, care required, area(s) of attention, any potential pre-care or pre-treatment services, type of dyes, structural integrity, and current condition are all factors that are considered when calculating cost for cleaning.

How often should I have my area rugs professionally cleaned?

  • There is no set rule or time interval; however, it is generally recommended to clean your most used area rugs about once per year. For less frequented areas, rugs may be cleaned anywhere from one to two years or depending on their use. These guidelines do not apply in the event of any pet accident, flood, spill, or any event that can affect the rug long-term, regardless of when the rugs were last professionally cleaned. Call us right away if you experience any one of these rug or carpet-related “emergencies” because time is of the utmost importance!

Can you just spot clean my rug?

  • In almost all cases, the entire rug must be completely and uniformly cleaned.

What is the best way to store my rug?

  • First, make sure your rug is professionally cleaned before storing it. Much like a winter coat, you want to have it professionally cleaned before stowing it away. Always store your rug (rolled is always preferred) in a cool, dry, and climate-controlled environment. If you are moving or need to wrap your rug, it is recommended to use high-density polyethylene (also known as alkathene) wrapping material as it is breathable and suitable for long-term storage.

Can you clean any type of rug?

  • Yes! We clean everything and anything that is classified as a rug.

Do you pick-up and deliver?

  • Yes, we offer pick-up and delivery services throughout Miami-Dade County. We also offer pick-up/delivery to parts of Broward County and Key Largo (restrictions apply; at an additional cost).

If I send you a picture of my rug, is that enough to provide me a quote?

  • A picture says a thousand words, but unfortunately, it does not tell us enough in order to provide a complete assessment of your rug. Certain elements need to be seen and felt. Pictures definitely help with identifying and assessing, but are not exclusive for our examination. However, if you do have any pictures, we invite you to send them to us in the interim, so that we have an idea of what your rug needs and can advise you accordingly.

Can you ship my rug to another destination?

  • Yes, we can assist with shipping your rug anywhere you need to send it to.

Do you appraise rugs?

  • Yes, for a fee. Call for details.

Do you offer rug repair services?

  • Yes, we repair rugs. Services range from binding on the edges, overcasting, and even re-weaving. We will discuss with you any recommended or necessary repairs and go through the methods with you to help you select the best option for your rug.

My rug has stains; will they come out after washing?

  • Not all stains can be removed. Stain removal is something no one can guarantee beforehand. Factors affecting stain removal can include the type of stain, how long it has been on the rug, the fiber, and whether any removal attempts were already conducted. While the intensity of many stains can be reduced, some substances will permanently alter or dye the fiber to the extent that no amount of cleaning is able to treat or remove.

As a rug owner, what can I do to maintain my rugs looking their best?

  • The best advice for rug owners is to use good judgement and do a few simple things:
  • Vacuum your rug to keep it free of dust and dirt.
  • Be very careful handling any food or drinks on the rug.
  • Rotate your rug every 6 months or so to ensure even wear.
  • Keep your rug away from direct sunlight, if possible.
  • Make sure pets are housebroken and their nails are trimmed.
  • Teach young children not to eat or drink on top of the rug.
  • Use a high-quality non-skid rug pad underneath.
  • Address any spills, pet accidents, or anything else immediately.
  • Do not use any oxygen, chemical, or carpet-grade cleaners on your rug.
  • Follow the cleaning and care instructions of your rug's manufacturer, if available. If not, consult a knowledgeable and qualified rug cleaning service.
  • If possible, designate your rug as a ‘shoe-free’ area.
